The author lists 15 species belonging to 26 genera of East Africa Brentidae. Three new species are described: Gynandrorhynchus somaliensis n. sp. from Somalia (holotypus in the Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali, Turin) - compared to the closely allied G. bocandei Lacordaire, G. corneolus (Kleine) and G. granulatus (Kleine); Amorphocephala aethiopica n. sp. from Ethiopia (halotypus in the Museo Regionale di Sienze Naturali, Turin) - compared to the closely related Amorphocephala poweri De Muizon; Plesiobolbus martini n. sp. from Tanzania (holotypus in the Zoologisk Museum, Copenhagen) - compared to P. sagax Kolbe and P. cribriceps (Kolbe). The validity of the genus Plesiobolbus Kolbe is confirmed. Reported for the first time are two species from Ethiopia: Perisymmorphocerus compactus Kleine and P. elongatus (Power); five from Uganda: Usambicus advena (Pascoe), Anomalopleura hagedorni Kleine, Cerobates (s.s.) dilutus Kleine, C. (Jonthocerus) conradti Senna, and Orfilaia brevirostris (Kolbe); nine from Kenya: Zemioses porcatus Pascoe, Cerobates (s.s.) copiosus Kleine, C. (s.s.) cruentatus Senna, C. (s.s.) debilis J. Thomson, Cerobates (Jonthocerus) zanzibaricus Senna, Microtrachelizus aethiopicus Calabresi, Neoceocephalus freyi De Muizon, Symmorphocerus frontalis (Olivier), and Micramorphocephalus frater Kleine; twelve from Tanzania: Adidactus striolatus (Fairmaire), Xestocoryphus intermedius Damoiseau, Anomalopleura hagedorni Kleine, Cerobates (s.s.) dilutus Kleine, Microtrachelizus aethipicus Calabresi, Neoceocephalus feyi De Muizon, Gynandrorhynchus tarsalis (Kleine), Eumecopodus guttatus De Muizon, Symmorphocerus frontalis (Olivier), S. supercilliatus Damoiseau, Acramorphocephalus stabilis Kleine, and Amorphocephala calcarata Damoiseau. Remarks are given upon the distribution of East African Bretidae, particularly with regard to Somalia, Kenya and Tanzania.
