The genus Cryptorhynchus Illiger 1807 is reviewed for the United States and Canada. Sternochetus woodruffi, Sleeper is a new junior synonym of C. helvus. Cryptorhynchus minutissimus LeConte is transferred provisionally to Acalles Schoenherr near Acalles sablensis Blatchley as Acalles minutissimus (LeConte), new combination.
