The biology, behavior and host plants of the Australian belid weevil, Belus semipunctatus (Fabricius)(Coleoptera: Belidae) are reviewed from the published literature and the personal observations of the author. The known larval food plants are Acacia decurrens (Wendl.) Willd., A. leiocalyx (Domin) Pedley and A. sophorae (Labill.) R.Br. (Mimosaceae). The adult food plants are Acacia decurrens (Wendl.) Willd., A. longifolia (Andr.) Willd., A. leiocalyx (Domin) Pedley, A. parramattensis Tindale, A. sophorae (Labill.) R.Br. and A. suaveolens (Sm.) Willd. (Mimosaceae). General biological notes are also provided. (This paper is an English translation (slightly modified) of a paper previously published in German (viz. Hawkeswood, 1991)).
