The large group of weevils related to the genus Otiorhynchus includes genera inhabiting the western part of the Palaearctic region. This overview builds on Magnano's (1998a) study supplemented by data published in the Zoological Record (ZR) between 1998 and 2010. The Otiorhynchus complex is newly divided into 15 genera: Amplotiorhynchus Magnano 2004, Arammichnus Gozis 1882, Cirrorhynchus Apfelbeck 1898, Dodecastichus Stierlin 1861, Dolychorhynchotious Magnano 2003, Limatogaster Apfelbeck 1898, Mirorhynchus Magnano 2003, Neotournieria Apfelbeck 1932, Otiorhynchomorphus Magnano 2001, Otiorhynchus Germar 1822, Parotiorhynchus Magnano 1998, Pseudotiorhynchus Magnano 2004, Rhynchotious Magnano 1998, Tithonus Germar 1824 and Tylotus Schonherr 1823. The names of subgenera not elevated to genera are assigned to the recognized genera according to presumed relationships. The supraspecific synonyms given by Alonso-Zarazaga and Lyal (1999, 2002) are not repeated and fossil taxa are omitted.
